Nike Air Max 98 NEW Year

The Nike Air Max 98 ‘New Year’ was released in December 2019 to ring in the new year. With many of the New Year-themed shoes we see in the marketplace being for the China’s Lunar New Year, it is interesting to see the direction that Nike decided to take with this pair. Fortunately, the design and execution on these sneakers is simply sweet. With black mesh base on the upper along with genuine cork (inspired by champagne bottle cork), these are some of the most unique Air Max 98 sneakers to date. The eyelets and forefoot include iridescent detailing drawn from fireworks displays, with a patent leather mudguard looking to formal footwear. The insole is decorated with the words, “New Year, Same Plan, Just Do It.” While this optimism might not have come to fruition in 2020, the saying still carries the same excitement for new year’s celebrations to come. Underfoot, a full-length Max Air unit provides cushioning, giving way to a gum rubber outsole (who doesn’t love a gum sole). The celebratory theme of the shoe works for any celebration or accomplishment one may see in life, not just new year. So, don’t hesitate, be sure to add the Nike Air Max 98 ‘New Year’ to your collection so that you can celebrate in style for New Year’s celebrations to come!
